Call for Nominations for the Annual Pete Newbon Award 2026

We give this award to the person who is judged to have made the greatest contribution to
the public understanding of antisemitism in the last year. Previous winners have been
Nicole Lampert in 2025, Heidi Backram in 2024 and Tracey Ann Oberman in 2023.

Who do you want to nominate for 2026? Who has changed the way you and others think
about antisemitism? Who has challenged the prevailing narrative with outstanding impact?
Who has repeatedly substituted facts in place of prejudice and deserves to be recognised?
Send your nominations to centre@londonantisemitism.com explaining why you think their
contribution has been exceptional and noteworthy.

The deadline for nominations is 13 November 2026, but don’t forget to obtain your nominee’s permission!

Dr Pete Newbon was an academic who recognised early that the UK had a growing
problem with hostility towards Jews and the things that Jewish people hold dear. He
worked tirelessly and fearlessly to educate his readers about this issue, explaining the
issues and why specific incidents were deeply problematic. Tragically he was made to
suffer for doing this, and we created this award to honour his memory and his work.
