Call for Nominations for the Annual Pete Newbon Award 2026

We give this award to the person who is judged to have made the greatest contribution to
the public understanding of antisemitism in the last year. Previous winners have been
Nicole Lampert in 2025, Heidi Backram in 2024 and Tracey Ann Oberman in 2023.

Who do you want to nominate for 2026?

Who has changed the way people think about antisemitism? Who has made the most impactful intervention against antisemitism this year?

Send your nomination to centre@londonantisemitism.com or fill in our online form here. Please make sure you explain to the judges why your nominee is so outstanding; and please include enough evidence to demonstrate your point.

Feel free to be original and imaginative in your nomination.

Please include an email from your nominee agreeing to be nominated.

The deadline is 13 November 2026.

Pete Newbon was our friend and colleague. He campaigned hard against antisemitism. He was funny and he had a way of expressing his critique with easy clarity. He was also a scholar, an academic and a teacher; and at the same time a thinker of formidable sophistication.

Tragically Pete was made to suffer for his opposition to antisemitism. We created this award to honour his memory and his work. Read more about Dr Pete Newbon here:
