How has antisemitism changed after October 7? Panel of Community Security Trust

Senior AnalystKey antisemitic extreme-right wing narratives following October 7th

I will be speaking as part of the CST panel exploring some of the various impacts of the October 7th attacks. My talk will focus on the exploitation of the current conflict between Israel and Hamas by the extreme-right wing to promote antisemitic narratives and fuel hatred against Jews. By using a case study, I will explore the key antisemitic narratives pushed out by the UK-based extreme-right wing both immediately following the October 7th attacks, as well as a year on.

Eran BenedekGlobal trends in anti-Jewish attacks and plots since 7 Oct 2023

I will be speaking as part of the CST panel. My presentation will focus on the global trends in violent attacks and plots against Jewish and Israeli targets since the Hamas mass attacks in Israel on 7 October 2023. In 2024, over 50 violent attacks, plots and incidents of extreme violence were directed against Jewish, Israeli and other targets in over 20 countries. Many of these showed direct reference or motivation related to the war in the Middle East. The presentation will consider the diverse types of targets and modus operandi, focusing on a few specific examples to illuminate the discussion. Additionally, the presentation will reference persistent incitement to violence against Jewish, Israeli or Western targets from Islamic State, al-Qaeda and other sources.

Marc GoldbergHow has antisemitism changed after October 7?

Head of Investigations at CST will be speaking about how anti Zionist discourse has expressed itself in the UK since October 7th, how it has been antisemitic and how it has changed since October 7th 2023. He’ll be using examples from the breadth of the pro Palestine movement in the UK to examine the discourse used in public by attendees of demonstrations as well as the leadership in banners, speeches and social media posts to paint a picture of the challenges and successes that the Jewish community faces in Britain.
