Antisemitism is rising worldwide, and the mental health professions have too often advanced it, even as diversity and multicultural training rarely addresses Jewish concerns at all. This talk introduces a new Wiley volume that responds to that climate and fills a real gap: examining antisemitism through the lens of psychology as a field. Written by scholar-clinicians engaged in empirical research, and drawing on counseling, clinical, social, and educational psychology, the book brings together the psychological foundations of antisemitism, its contemporary contexts and impacts, and evidence-based interventions. Dr. Ancis will focus in particular on what this means for the mental health professions and for how psychologists are educated and trained.
Dr, Julie Ancis will discuss her new book ‘Antisemitism and Jew Hatred: Psychological Perspectives (Wiley): Foundations and Contemporary Contexts in Mental Health’. Chaired by Dr. Corinne Datchi.
