Intersectionality
Antisemitism, intersectionality, feminism and ‘pinkwashing’
There is a rich and hugely important research agenda on issues related to the concept of intersectionality and the way the concept is actualised in scholarly and activist practice. In particular, its actualisation is often informed by an antizionist ideology that positions antisemitism outside of the array of key oppressive structures of power in the contemporary world. It positions Jews, if they do not disavow Israel in the terms required by antizionism, outside of the community of resistance to those intersecting structures.
This research agenda will also ask positive questions about the actual intersections between racism, misogyny homophobia and antisemitism, as well as questions about how those intersections are frequently conceived and portrayed.
