Chad Alan Goldberg, Research Fellow
Chad Alan Goldberg is Martindale-Bascom Professor of Sociology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison (USA), where he is also affiliated with the George L. Mosse/Laurence A. Weinstein Center for Jewish Studies and the George L. Mosse Program in History, and (beginning in March 2026) Professor of Sociology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He writes about politics, history, and social theory. His award-winning books include Citizens and Paupers: Relief, Rights, and Race, from the Freedmen’s Bureau to Workfare (2008); Modernity and the Jews in Western Social Thought (2017); and Education for Democracy: Renewing the Wisconsin Idea (2020).
