Katie Cunningham, Research Fellow
Katie Cunningham serves as Director of Education for the Stan Greenspon Holocaust Education Center and board member for the newly proposed Holocaust Museum of the Carolinas, where she brings extensive experience as a National Board Certified teacher, curriculum leader, and licensed school administrator.
Deeply committed to advancing Holocaust education, Katie has participated in numerous prestigious national and international programs, including the Alan Cornell U.S. Campus Faculty Seminar at Yad Vashem, the Echoes & Reflections Advanced Seminar in Israel, and programs with The Olga Lengyel Institute for Holocaust Studies and Human Rights.
Katie serves on advisory boards for leading institutions, including the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History, the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), and the American Jewish Historical Society. She is the 2025–2026 Candice and Howard Wolk Fellow at Brandeis University and previously served on the North Carolina Council on the Holocaust as an appointee of Governor Roy Cooper. She also serves as a consultant for UNESCO, contributing her expertise to global education initiatives.
She holds a B.A. in English Secondary Education from Lebanon Valley College and an M.A. in Educational Leadership from Queens University of Charlotte. Katie is currently a PhD candidate in Holocaust and Genocide Studies at Gratz College, where her research focuses on the impact of Holocaust education on antisemitic beliefs in the United States.
