Paula A. Cáceres
Paula’s doctoral dissertation, commenced in September 2023, aims to explore young Jews’ experiences and responses to antisemitism. This qualitative project seeks to illuminate how antisemitism is experienced by young Jews in Sweden and how they navigate these challenges, thereby contributing to the understanding of contemporary antisemitism from a social work perspective.
Her professional background in social work and education, encompassing areas such as human rights, child welfare, and conflict resolution, has provided her with a framework for understanding complex social problems. Her experiences, including working with vulnerable populations, inform her approach to understanding prejudice and discrimination from both a theoretical and practical perspective.
Paula supervises undergraduate students on their scientific work, fostering critical thinking. Her lectures on topics like conflict and mediation further highlight her engagement with social complexities.
She intends her research to contribute to broader societal understanding and to the combating, as well as the understanding, of contemporary antisemitism.
