Yasmine Slimani
Yasmine Slimani is a PhD candidate in Postcolonial Literature at the University of Bern, Switzerland. Her research explores the intersections of migration, trauma, and cultural memory in Indian and Maghrebin Jewish literatures, focusing on how postcolonial histories and diasporic identities shape Jewish memory beyond Eurocentric frameworks. She works across English and French literary traditions, drawing on postcolonial theory, Jewish studies, trauma studies, and comparative literature. Yasmine holds an MA in English Literature from Bishop Grosseteste University, UK, where she was awarded the Dean of Faculty Scholarship for Academic Achievement. She is a member of the Graduate School of the Arts and Humanities (GSAH) at Bern and actively participates in scholarly networks, including the ENLIGHT European University Alliance, engaging in conferences, workshops, and seminars. Yasmine brings a cross-cultural and multilingual perspective to her research and teaching. Alongside her academic work, she is an experienced academic mentor and English language educator, specializing in admissions coaching, critical thinking development, and multilingual education.
